Advice for buying a vette

Hey guys I’m looking to own a Corvette (Finally) Last night I was browsing ads, and fell upon some interesting Vettes. But as I’m new to Corvettes I am seeking your advice.
What year/model/engine should I avoid when looking for a C4. Also what are the common (if any) problems with C4’S?

Depends on what you are looking for; coupe or convertible, stick or automatic, higher model, like a Zr-1. The general rule that I know is the same with all cars, if at all possible go for the newest model with the lowest mileage. If you do that you minimize your chances of problems occurring. Also check for maintenance records. If it were me, I'd go for a later year C4, like a '96. The later models have more HP, better weather stripping, and better noise insulation. I think you will be happy with anyone though. Good luck.
