Could you get him to upload them on our site?
I wish , strange dude , last time I visited him at his place in Plant City FL. he had over 30 corvettes , all very rare , I asked him what he did for medical insurance a very hard one for an old Canadian to swallow he turned and pointed to a car under a tarp I had to take a peak , it was I think 78 Indianapolis pace car the one with the silver paint across the bottom , nothing special to me , he explained this was the pace car and had 50 some miles on it ! Asked me if I wanted to go racing and showed me a corvette on a trailer ready for the track with an extra set of tires , was Paul Newman's . Bill use to build motors for NASCAR " Buick " quite a Dude !!
Pretty awesome insurance policy! Would like to see this place once.
Owning a motel on Daytona Beach for 20 years we seen a lot , having a small place a lot would book the whole place during special events , during bike week we had #1 Rick Doss , he won the custom bike contest 1st 2nd 3rd & 4th for 13 years in a row then stopped competing , we had bike magazines doing photo layouts from all over the world with our little place as the back drop , cool or what !! http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=Rick+Doss+Motorcycle&qpvt=Rick+Doss+Motorcycle&FORM=IGRE
Cool.. very. Wish I could say the same. My farther owns a auto shop and is a former racing driver. When I was a young fella, I remember meting drivers like Tom Kristensen ( "Mr Le Mans" ) and Corvette Racing driver Jan Magnussen on the tracks.
I drove truck delivering from Miami to NJ for a while for Gary Benedict , big boy toys !
Bill Towers was heading up a car show , a race car show , Indianapolis cars I am not sure if it is still going on was around Plant City's (Florida) Strawberry Fest able ! We where married to the motel so did not get out much !
The last one is AWESOME...
Yes I think Bill told me it raced at Sebring and then was totaled in a accident at Daytona , he completely rebuilt it from the ground up , the fiber glass was very thin and would not of took to much of a bang pushing a Cobra out of its way
Do you know Goodwood Revival? They race them old cars like they where meant to be raced. Ferrari 250GTO's, Vettes, Jaguar E-types, Cobras, GT40's, Mini's etc.. It is really amazing.
Can't say I do but looks like a blast , if I was not bed ridden so much would be a nice hobby .I learned how to drive in a 53 MG , dirt roads , as fast as it would go while my father took shots with his 28 gauge bird gun at partridge from the passengers seat ! At 12 years old I could do no wrong !
They are absolutely crazy 2011 Goodwood Revival - Whitsun Trophy Race. http://www.goodwood.co.uk/revival/about/about.aspx
